1problems recording distorted guitar
[ Posted on 03/21/2008 at 15:03 ]

I was wondering if any of you could help me figure out why on earth I can't record guitar when it's got the distortion on. The sound gets totally messed up. I'm plugging the guitar into the computer via mic input and using Kristal Audio as multi track recorder. It used to work perfectly, but suddenly it started to gay up the sound. I have tried different pedals and different cables. The problem only occurs when I use overdrive distortion. Here's how awful it sounds: http://www.mediafire.com/?xivowj9fyt9

It started all of a sudden. And what I find weird is: If I'm playing without recording it sounds perfect; it also sounds perfect while I hear myself recording. The problem is afterwards, when I hear what I recorded (the graphic Kristal shows also gets thinner than it should).

I really can't figure this out :/ Help!
