Hello, I was given a Cubase SE3 for Christmas. I only want to do simple stuff (I think!). I'm a singer and I want to take backing tracks, cut and paste to form medleys/change keys/ put in drum loops. Nothing any more complicated than that at the moment.

I've managed to get sound files into Cubase, the song appears on only one track. I am concerned that when I play stuff in the software there are breaks in the sound. IE, it stops, there is silence for a second, then continues from where it left off. This happens several times during playback of the track. Surely this is not normal? I'm worried it's something to do with my PC/sound card and I'm not very computer savvy. Do I need to sort this now, or if I carried on working on the file, then exported it would it be OK, or still have the breaks?

I would be really grateful for any help as I am reluctant to go any further in case I am wasting my time working on something that will not turn out any good. Thanks.
