No Midi through with realtek AC97 any advice?

2 posts | 1 Posted on 12/27/2007 at 18:59 Hello All, I've been trying to solve this problem for ages, but I finally realised that I just don't understand anything!!! I switched from a desktop to a laptop and have come across what i think may be a common problem. The machine runs WinXP andhas the Realtek AC97 chip instead of a sound card which allows me to hear midi files but does not give me anything from my controller keyboard (roland PC 180A). Fruity Loops allows the controller to trigger samples etc but with some delay, sibelius, music masterworks and cubase.....nothing Do I need to buy an external soundcard to rectify this problem and if so which reasonably priced (i.e. cheapest) ones could you recommend. I hope someone out there can help, this is driving me crazy. Thanks in anticipation Alan |
