So when I need to occassionally I find the bass line tends to sound much thinner than it sounded while being played. Any suggestions? Should I record direct? Through a preamp? By miking an amp? Compressor? Thank you Joe C | ||

Try flipping one of the channels out of phase to see if it helps the sound. I also like to compress bass quite a bit with a good compressor but be careful about setting the attack times to quick. It can kill the punch of the bass |
